Okay, so I've had this Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slim portable hard drive for a while now. It's been pretty reliable for backing things up, hasn't given me any issues connecting or transferring files. Still works as expected. Definitely a solid external drive for the job. Five stars.

Just connect it to the USB port of the PC with the supplied cable and the installation of the driver is done automatically. The speed of execution is quite satisfactory, fast enough for my taste. With the recent firmware update allowing USB storage as supplementary storage for the internal PS4 hard drive, I was looking for a relatively cheap and reliable option to do so.This couldn't be easier with this particular item. 2TB in size and plug and play (following a simple formatting process for PS4 standards), this adds considerable capacity for minimum cost and fuss.Having faired well in an online comparison, the drive has the storage and performance to allow your hard drive based library to grow, almost without further consideration.The only downside so far is that the limited USB ports on the front of the PS4 (and none on the back) mean I've had to order a USB hub to allow continued use of a wireless headset (dongle) alongside my wired pad (Nacon Revolution) and this drive. At less than £20, it's a tiny overhead considering the benefits.Also, the drive itself is fully USB powered, extremely quiet and miniscule in size, making it very easy to integrate into your setup seamlessly.Great purchase, and tangible benefits at an excellent price, and no screwdriver required.

I've already filled this external hard drive with about 1TB of data. Just as an interesting aspect, the actual size of the disk is 1.86GB. I've managed to copy the 1TB (mainly photos and 4K movies) in less than 2 hours, which is really good. When copying smaller size files I've noticed the transfer can drop to around 20 MB/s, while for the larger files (4K videos) the transfer speed has gone up to about 130 MB/s.In terms of size, I find this hard drive to be very compact, slim and lightweight. It has a really nice feel to it and I liked the fact you can purchase them in different colours, which makes it easier to distinguish them if you buy more than one.Overall, I think the disk delivers more than adequate performance and, considering the solid build and the relatively good price, I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking to buy an external hard drive with a capacity of 2TB (I wouldn't recommend the 1TB version as the price difference is too small). However, I do recommend investing in a case as well as the hard drive is not shock or water proof and it can be easily damaged if dropped.
