Works as expected.
The media could not be loaded. Summary: Replacing a previous unit I purchased at CompUSA 25+ years ago for 3x more money. Gave up wiggling the old one to get it to send a signal down the cable. Combine that with the only having LED's on one side I had to always run back and forth between the devices to make sure things were working- total pain.Broke down and got this one, what a great purchase.Packaging, excellent. Not over packaged, little waste, all can be recycled. 5 stars.Design: Simple, clean. 5 stars.Case: Honestly, I appreciate there is not one, I have the case from my old tester which is the same size, much less so many other cases over the years. Less waste as its unneeded. 5 stars.Functions: Works well, clear indicators. The only comment I make is that the S isn't Slow as you will see in my video per the documentation. S is "Speedy". 4.5 stars.Ease of Use: Simple. 5 stars.Overall, I'm really happy with this product and wish I had gotten it sooner. The 'Speedy' functionality + LED's on both sides are a life enhancing feature for me.I used a bad cable in the included video to show something different than a good cable pattern like in most videos. You can also see that changing it to S isn't Slow, it's Speedy.

Works well
Nice to have if you are extending network cables and want to test everything for good connections. Save me some time. I'm not sure how often I will actually use it, but it took the guesswork out of the project I was working on.

Who would have guessed?
Suddenly my router stopped working...fortunately with this tool I could identify it was the wired connection that was at fault instead of replacing the router I was able to replace the wires connection...all set. What an inexpensive & helpful fix. This is easy to use, points the IT sleuth in the right direction, & saves time & money. Also compact & solidly made. Stores easily. Great tool.

Cheap and easy sanity check
Iperf wasn't working, panic was setting in. After running cable 40 feet above ground with multiple wall penetrations the panic was setting in... But the tester was reporting 8 green lights....Turns out a patch cable was dead. I didn't test the patch cables running to the laptops. I avoided a lot of hassle and stress by having this at my disposal to debug each cable, one at a time physically.Don't get me wrong, I would love a $300 tester to check signal strength beyond a binary on/off connection. But you would be kinda stupid to not at least have this for like $15.

It works as needed and the price is right for a DYIer.
It would have been nice to know in advance that it needed a 9 volt battery as I had to go get one before I could use it, but it worked perfectly.

do not buy
about the 4th or 5th time i powered it on, the power switch broke. the switch now can just up and down and stays powered off even in the on position. it still works though if you let it flop to the on position and press down with a fair amount of pressure. obviously this is not the way this switch is supposed to work. it was $10 so as soon as i’m done with it i’m putting it in thrash can.

Works great. Good troubleshooting tool.
Very easy to use and super helpful when troubleshooting network issues. Tested a 200’ cable to confirm it was bad. Tested a new 125’ cable before pulling (it was good), then after pulling the cable to ensure it hadn’t been damaged during the pull (still good). Hooked up router and no WiFi, so I was pretty sure it was the wall plate that was bad. Tested across the whole 125’ cable plugged into inlet side of the wall outlet with another cable plugged into the outlet and it showed 1 wire & the ground didn’t have continuity. Removed the wall outlet and wifi worked great. Handy tool for troubleshooting and for testing new cables before you go to a bunch of trouble installing one!
