Very high quality precision tool!
Japanese saws are well known for their accuracy and steel quality. This saw is no exception. I was able to quickly hand cut several mortise and tenon joints and a set of jewelry box dovetails. The price is right and readily available. Shipped in a day.

Effortless
I have always used my saw or a router to create my joints. I bought this saw more for cutting pins/dowels. In making my first table with drawers, I decided to do the slides with my dozuki. It was barely slower than using my table saw. The accuracy, control, he cut oh dear god this thing cuts with so little effort. The handle size and length allows for many different approaches and the height of the blade really allows you to guide the saw. I am far from a master or even advanced- I felt like one using this. Perfect joints. I wouldn’t care if the blade dulls quickly I’d buy more and more. Easily 5 stars.

Hooked on the Dozuki!
Just picked up woodworking and really like the Japanese hand saw style. I've cut a few dovetails with this so far and it's perfect. Very easy to place exactly where you need to cut, and with a bit of practice I was cutting decent dovetails in no time. I love the how thin the blade is. I can usually cut on the mark rather than on the outside of it and it makes the joints super snug. I'm sure there are better dozukis out there, but this is great for beginners with the price being so low, and also just great to have around the shop.

Great saw
I own a few japanese style pull saws and I really like them. I decided to buy this one because it is $42 at rockler but it was around $30 here on Amazon. I will start by saying this saw has the thinnest blade of any I've used. This thin blade creates an extremely fine cut and follows the line well. The spine on this saw is a big help it keeps the blade rigid throughout the stroke. The teeth on this saw are much finer than my other saws and extraordinarily sharp. This saw cuts like a hot knife through butter. I am very happy with this product and I would definitely buy it again.

DOOOZUKIIII
I bought this saw after learning about Japanese saws and seeing 'The Samurai Carpenter' on Youtube talk about it.For under $30, I'm really happy with it. I think I will upgrade to a Gyokucho eventually though.Don't get me wrong, I love this one. It's super sharp and makes easy, straight cuts with finesse. If the stock is small enough (1/4" give or take), I can hold it up, pull this saw across it and make the cut in one motion. I use it often for cuts on small pieces of trim and that sort of thing. My only complaint with it is that I've had a few teeth break off. It looks like they either laser cut the teeth out, or toasted the edge to harden them, because you can see some burn marks on the metal. I think whatever they did made it more brittle. There is a slight learning curve with using Japanese saws. My advice is take it easy and let the saw do the work. It will! It's also fun to say, so after making a cut with it, you may feel the need to say "Doooozukiiii" like a samurai.Overall, I recommend this and I think it's a good first saw if you're trying out the Japanese pull saw style.

Where have you been all my life?!
Sharp, easy to control and far superior to any western style hand saws I've ever used (even top of the line models sold at Woodcraft). A simple and effective tool is your best friend during any project no matter how big, small or complicated and this guy will soon be your BFF! Since it cuts on the pull stroke, your body's mechanics naturally make that motion in a straighter path than it does on the push stroke so you can't help but to make a straight while using this type of saw. For the price, quality and durability, you can't do any better than this saw.
