Love these: 12 month old learned to stack with these
I have a very active 13 month old who loves to play with these Wee Wedgits. He started learning to stack with these at 12 months, and now he's learning the different angles that they can be fitted together. Not to mention that they get dragged around and played with in other ways all day. We also use it as an opportunity to help him practice his colors: "Put the green one on now." Almost everyone who comes into the house loves to build these into different types of pyramids and structures -- It's one of *my* favorite toys at the moment, I bought us a second kit....The details: They aren't a soft-soft plastic, but aren't rigid either. They are roughly the same type of firm as the rings in a Fisher-price stacker. The first kit I bought had a bit of a plastic-y smell, but that dissipated over time. Second kit smelled fine. I like the way that they are phthalate-free as Baby likes to chew on them. They are sealed so I can throw them in the kitchen sink and wash them off thoroughly. As a note, we bought these when he was 10 months old, not a choking hazard, but he didn't have much interest in them at that time.Overall, one of the best toys we own, period. Definitely one of the best stacking toys for a one year old.

smells lovely and enjoyable for stacking
I love the smell and texture and my 14 month year old likes knocking my creations down. my annoyances with this are:a) doesn't fully work with later wedgits as the little octohedrans don't hold in the rubber; can stack with the harder plastic thoughb) can't make the cooler things without the smaller piece at the top and because the rubber doesn't "wedge" like the harder plastic pieces dobut they stack well and did i mention they smell really nice? also having 30 pieces allows for some more variation than the smaller 5 piece set..all in all a nice toy but not "perfect" which you would hope for at this pricewish these things were cheaper.

WoW Wee Wedgits
I am a WEDGIT-devotee. I previously bought Wedgits for my little grandsons (ages 5 and 2 1/2) for them to play at our house when they visit. I ended up buying two sets because the boys make towering objects that require lots of expansion. Eventually, the Wedgits migrated to my daughter's house after my 5 year grandson repeatedly asked to "borrow" the set.Recently, when I was looking for a gift for my little grand-daughter, I was delighted to discover the softer version, WEE Wedgits. Based on experience, I knew to buy the larger set. Granted my one-year old grand-daughter is precocious, but she already knows how to stack three wedits high ;-) Because she is sometimes unstable on her feet - and sometimes she likes to fling the pieces - the soft wedgits work perfectly.I only regret that WEDGITS weren't around when my two daughters were growing up!

to much stuff
I saw this product was recomended for a one year olds birthday present. So i spent the money on the large set and now I wish I had not. I like the product in that the pieces are fun for my baby to minipulate. I can tell she is learning as she figures out the puzzle in putting them together, however I would not buy so many! this is clearly a classroom supply or multiple children supply. For only one baby there is way to many pieces. I think a smaller set would be absolutely fine for a single baby.

BEST gift for a two-year old boy!
I cannot rant about these enough! Dad and son played with these for 45 minutes straight out of the box. Also, numerous visitors to our house ranging from babies to teens, to grown up men and women have played with them! Getting the larger set like this was WORTH IT! I love that it is good for older children, but is safe for my infant who is crawling around. I also love the wonderful "vanilla" or something smell. Durable, yet flexible. A very open-ended toy . . . requiring creativity, attention to detail, and analysis. A favorite manipulative in our homeschool.

A Quality Toy
I had used these toys at the preschool that I worked at, so I already knew that they were well made. The colors are bright and the blocks are soft for younger children. As others have noted, they have a pleasant vanilla smell. My grandson, who is 20 months old, is not very interested in them yet, but from previous experience working with 3 years olds, I know he will enjoy them in the future.

Great toy for a toddler
These are a great toy very engaging. My understanding is that only the wee wedgits are made of this nice soft plastic. I bought another set and was surprised that it was the hard plastic I returned that and got another set of the wee wedgits.

Family fun
Bought this for our granddaughter's second birthday. As soon as she opened it her big sister, mom and grandpa crowded around and worked it with her. That was amusing to watch them all playing with it. Her mom sent me a picture of her playing with it today with a big smile.
